Note to Self Vol. / Series 1 consists of 4 ready-made card designs that were specially created and designed when I was still in the beginning phase of my graphic design learning journey. It shows the raw-ness of my beginner and initial start towards graphic design and it captures the various emotions and experiences I had personally come to experience throughout the first 25 years (nearing!) of my life where I experienced many ups and downs life moments. I created these in 2020 when I was just freshly graduated from university and when I ended my university internship not too long after. This idea popped up in my mind one day when I was penning down a few of my self-created motivational and note-to-self quotes and this was just nice the initial start of what got me into graphic designing! :) 

SNAKES & FISHES with THREADS is an abstract artwork piece that was designed and created with the concept and ideology behind how in all of our lives, we all have to deal with countless betrayals and opportunities that come along in our life (where the snakes represent the betrayals and fishes represent the opportunities - just like what most of us would commonly say where "there're plenty of fishes in the ocean"), seemingly to be connected and intertwined through us just like how a thread would be, invisibly.

Note: We've decided to come up with a campaign that would potentially run for the next 1-2 months from mid of October (17th October 2022) till mid of November (20th November 2022), where we'd be donating 30% of the overall revenue we received from the total sale of this physical printed wall artwork piece to any organization of our choice on Giving.sg platform.

The Smiley Flower series artworks were personally designed and curated with the inspiration I had personally taken as a form of reference from one of my top few favourite artists in the world called "Takashi Murakami".  I added a twist to the design with my own interpretation of how a smiley face would look like on a flower element as a flower head on its own and with an abstract type of doodling to showcase the flower to be shining and blooming on its own! I added a touch of life to the flower by using my favourite colours namely Yellow and Lilac (Baby / Light Purple) to bring out the contrasts and vibrancy of these 2 colours :) 

Take A Flower Shower is an abstract and minimalistic artwork piece filled with floral and typography graphic elements overall. Inspired by Hyuna's comeback title track in 2021 called "Flower Shower" after a long hiatus from her last comeback in 2019, the song "Flower Shower" is potentially conveying and/or describing her intention or wish of blooming and growing up from where she last stopped at in her career, professional and/or personal life when news or updates were published regarding on her personal life matters and with challenges she was facing back then with her previous company. 

This song showcased her ultimately glowing up and she ended up walking on a flower road, which in South Korea has a good meaning overall, where it means to walk on a road or pathway filled with lots of happiness and good things happening in life. It was her first comeback song since she chose to join her current new company.

Similarly, when I first heard of the song, it reminded me a lot of myself and hence it gave me the inspiration to create this artwork in hopes that many other people would feel inspired and/or encouraged to bloom and glow up in their own unique ways too.  

This artwork consists of a small translated part of her song's Korean lyrics in English and I hope this would transcend to many individuals.

These 3 card designs were created with considerations made for the students in the Pathlight School as colors, patterns, and font styles matter to individuals with special needs. We took note of what are some of the potential primary triggers that could affect them. Hence, effective discussions were made with my client who was working as a teacher assistant, and with better knowledge and deeper understanding of the students, we were thus able to effectively communicate and finalized the designs efficiently with the overall project taking only 7-10 days to complete.

Ypphoto.graphy - Create Content Through My Lens is an abstract infused with doodles type of artwork piece that showcases the vibrant rainbow colours used to commemorate Pride month! The design was incorporated with doodles of an outdoor grass field filled with colourful flowers and during the day itself, this idea came as a form of symbolizing that hopefully in the near future ahead, we could all embrace the LGBTQ+ community openly and that the community could all be as free as they'd like to be in an open environment and space and to be able to travel freely like the wind and flowers under broad daylight (in the light), without the need to hide, just like the symbolized meaning of hiding in the dark (late at night).

This was an initial design idea that I had wanted to finalize and complete during the pride month celebration period in June, however, due to some unforeseen circumstances, I was only able to complete the design idea by the end of July. 

However, I'd still like to make it counts for the LGBTQ+ community in support for them to be able to be more openly free and comfortable in expressing their love and care towards someone they love and also as a form of expressing our own individuality.
